Summer Solstice
Dear Wildheart Members,
Something From Neil
I hope you all had a joyous and transformational Solstice and danced like Kate Bush in Wuthering Heights, somewhere either on the beach, Dartmoor, or just in your kitchen.
As I said I journeyed up to Scorhill Rock, to a overcast and bruised sky and as soon as I had pitched camp, the sky cleared to reveal a beautiful sunset, where I with a bottle of Champagne lovingly given to me by Kate, who couldn't make it up to the rocks, toasted our future intentions, and let go of the beliefs that hold us back. As the Solstice is the time of highest fertility, but also a time of rebirth and letting go of the old.
I was then joined by Jo another practice member who spent the rest of the evening up there with me enjoying the rest of the sunset. Apart from awaking to find a man dressed as a Druid amongst the stones (or was it a man dressed up?), we were the only people up there, unexpected but a lovely surprise.
I just want to share a poem that has resonated with me around this Solstice, I hope you love it as much as I do. Enjoy the energy around this time, and let go of want doesn't serve you so we all can return to love just that bit more.
See you all in the second half xx
Something From Jenna:
A couple weeks ago I wrote about creating an internal and external sanctuary to nurture and restore our souls.
Back then I thought of them as being separate, either creating a harmonious internal environment no matter where you are, or creating a peaceful and tranquil space in your home. Recently I've been concentrating more on linking the two together and seeing how quickly I can enter into a state of relaxation and creation.
I bought myself the most beautiful colourful weaved rug, and simply take time every now and then to sit on the rug, preferably outside, and let every muscle in my body relax. Showing up on the rug simply means that I take time for myself, to slow down and connect, to check back in with where I am instead of being caught up with everything going on around me.
Sometimes I don't move, I just sit and breathe and soften my gaze.
Sometimes I meditate.
Sometimes I stretch out areas in the body that I feel are tight.
Sometimes I foam roll.
Sometimes I dance or do handstands.
Sometimes I lay flat out with my pooch and soak in the sun.
Every time I've done it I've felt calmer and more relaxed afterwards.
My mind is clearer, and I feel more connected to my body.
I now look forward to getting back on it as soon as possible!
Do you have a space where you give yourself 100% of your time?
