Celebrating the Sun and balancing ourselves

What an amazing week, the sun has been warming our hearts, and reddening our faces. helping us to lift up our energy states and our hormone levels. Allowing us to celebrate the joys of life into the long and barmy nights. Hopefully your'e all dancing long into the night.
The Solar deity Apollo, was the god of archery, music and healing, and the source of health and healing. Apollo personifies the active, Yang path to healing. (the sun helps to activate our yang). The solar principle manifests in the body as the vital force, the energy that run up your spine giving you your energy. Or in Chinese is called Qi or the Hindus call Prana.
Apollo's bow symbolises the concept of tone, and in Chiropractic we say 'life is an expression of tone". Tone is the dynamic between opposite yet complimentary forces within the human organism. The higher the level of tone, the greater this dynamic tension is, and the greater the capacity of the organism to respond with strength and vigor.
Apollo's bow means bringing the powerful forces into proper alignment, as we try to within Chiropractic. Otherwise our system is non functional, or dysfunction, and unable to respond or adapt properly, leading to a state of dis-ease.
Apollo's lyre symbolises the gift of music or the harmony of sounds. To have health and healing, there must be a harmonious ordering of all the vital forces within the organism, all the strings must be in tune. The Lyre has seven strings representing the seven energy centres of the body.
So lets all take inspiration from Apollo this week, and celebrate in the sun, rebalancing ourselves and making the most of this joyous time.
